So, getting my labs worked out this semester has been a bit... odd.

Two weeks ago, Dr. Parks sends out the usual e-mail for lab assignments, so I respond wanted two monday 232 labs. It's something a little new, there's not too many students in them, shouldn't be too hard. But! They cancel one of them. Okay, so plan B, I get two 231 labs on Tuesday.

Last week we had the meeting where this stuff is supposed to get finalized. I still have my labs, so everything is kosher, or should be.

Yesterday, 5 PM. I get an e-mail from Dr. Parks telling me I'm teaching a 221 now instead of the ones I wanted. ... I meet with him around 5:30. I am *so* getting stuck with this lab I don't want instead of the ones I do want.

I check my e-mail constantly all last night waiting for news about this situation. For the record, that 221 lab has a 10 AM recitation and the lab itself started about 10 minutes ago. I'm supposed to whip up a lecture for pre-med students that quickly? No thank you. :p

So this morning, I get up at 7:30 and check my e-mail every 30 minutes or so, until about 9, then I send Dr. Parks an e-mail. After meeting with him for a few minutes, he got someone else to do the job. Whew.

All that trouble, and nothing changed.

Mega Man X

Just beat Mega Man X a few minutes ago. I'd gotten all the power-ups and the Hadoken. Then I trashed my way through the Sigma stages up until the point where I had to lay the smack down on Sigma's jabroni candy ass. That took more than a few tries. :p

Sigma: You have won a temporary victory, X! What you destroyed was only
a temporary body -- my spirit remains intact. In time I will find other
bodies strong enough to do my bidding and I will return. I shall see
you soon, X. Very soon...

So, it's a year later and they're still in Libya awaiting with the Libyan government demanding their heads.

Yes, technically, I'm teaching lab right now. >.>

Don't tell my students I'm not actually looking up crucial information or dealing with physics lab-related e-mails. :p
